In 2 Corinthians 11:14, it states, "No wonder, for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." We must also be cognizant of the fact that an evil entity may deceive some people if their experience contradicts the biblical understanding of eternity.
Research shows that on average, 23% of those who experience NDEs will have a negative event. Often, they do not share these with others for many years. There are some common events such as darkness/black surroundings, beings that show pleasure in harming their victims, and sometimes a spiritual being such as an angel or Christ figure pulling away from their torment, and then the experiencer returns to their body. All return with their lives forever changed.
Some individuals have reported horrible conditions with their negative experiences. They report experiencing the pain they have caused others in life. Others have described a sense of complete hopelessness of ever getting out of their condition. Some people cannot describe their experiences, but one common report is that individuals know they deserve the torment they are receiving.
Death is the great leveler of all mankind. Great, small, rich, and poor all meet the same fate. Seeing oneself in a coffin or dead is one of the last things we wish to think about for those who fear death. There are estimates that over 112 billion people have lived on Earth throughout history; that means over 100 billion people have passed before us.
Some people believe we simply pass into an annihilated state where we cease to exist, but the evidence does not support that theory. The evidence is clear that there is an existence outside our bodies. While it is impossible to prove, we may very well exist in eternity.
Strong evidence suggests that death casts us into a new realm where a world exists that is far more real than our material world in this four-dimensional space. For those with pleasurable experiences, they tell of colors beyond description, strange abilities such as being able to listen to hundreds of songs all at once and yet able to hear the words of each song. They describe how time has no meaning and everything exists in the present.
For those with unpleasant experiences, they describe a place of absolute hopelessness and having full knowledge of why they were there, with knowledge of deserving their fate. They describe hideous creatures that take pleasure in tormenting people who are there. The torment is real and they have a body that regenerates before the next torment, yet the pain continues, over and over.
So, I would set about however necessary to take over the United States. I’d subvert the churches first. I’d begin with a campaign of whispers. With the wisdom of a serpent, I would whisper to you as I whispered to Eve: “Do as you please.”
To the young, I would whisper that the Bible is a myth. I would convince them that man created God instead of the other way around. I would confide that what is bad is good and what is good is “square.” And the old, I would teach to pray after me: “Our Father which art in Washington.”
And then I’d get organized. I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull and uninteresting. I’d make TV look worse than movies and then make movies look worse than TV in a vicious cycle that just gets worse and worse. I’d peddle narcotics to whomever [sic] I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. I’d tranquilize the rest with pills.
If I were the Devil, I’d soon have families at war with themselves, churches at war with themselves, and nations at war with themselves, until each in its turn was consumed. And with promises of higher ratings, I’d have mesmerizing media fanning the flames.
If I were the Devil, I would encourage schools to refine young intellects but neglect to discipline emotions; just let those run wild until, before you knew it, you’d have to have drug-sniffing dogs and metal detectors at every schoolhouse door. Within a decade, I’d have prisons overflowing. I’d have judges promoting pornography. Soon I could evict God from the courthouse, and then from the schoolhouse, and then from the houses of Congress. And in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion and deify science. I would lure priests and pastors into misusing boys and girls and church money. If I were the Devil, I’d make the symbol of Easter an egg and the symbol of Christmas a bottle.
If I were the Devil, I would take from those who have and give to those who wanted, until I had killed the incentive of the ambitious. And what will you bet I couldn’t get whole states to promote gambling as the way to get rich. I would caution against extremes in hard work, in patriotism, in moral conduct. I would convince the young that marriage is old-fashioned, that swinging is more fun, that what you see on TV is the way to be and thus I could undress you in public and I could lure you into bed with diseases for which there is no cure.
